Terms of Use

Last updated: 14 October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and IDEATOWEB LTD ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the SipStep app for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and Wear OS and the website at sipstep.com (together, the "Service"). By downloading or using SipStep, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Using SipStep

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use SipStep for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the terms of the store you downloaded it from (the App Store or Google Play). You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

2. Your account

You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your device secure. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app.

3. Subscriptions (SipStep Plus)

SipStep is free to download and use. Some optional features require a paid subscription, SipStep Plus, offered on Individual and Family tiers with monthly and annual options.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their store terms.

4. SipStep Teams

A workplace, gym or club (an "organisation") can give its people SipStep Plus through SipStep Teams. Organisations do this under their own agreement with us. These Terms cover your use of the app as a member.

5. Health disclaimer

SipStep is a general wellness and habit app. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The hydration goals, step targets, calorie figures and other information in the app are general guidance only and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Everyone's needs are different. Do not rely on SipStep to make health decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your hydration and activity, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, or take medication. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact emergency services. You use the app's guidance at your own risk.

Challenges and activity are voluntary. Whether you take part in a challenge set by a friend, by a team or by yourself, only do what is safe for you, and stop and seek advice if you feel unwell. Steps, distance, calories, heart rate and workouts may come from your phone, your watch or other devices and apps through Apple Health or Health Connect. We do not control those sources and cannot guarantee their figures are accurate.

6. Your content and conduct

You keep ownership of the content you create in SipStep (such as your profile photo, stories, and challenge activity). By posting content through the social features, you grant us a licence to host and display it to the friends you share it with, solely to operate those features.

You agree not to misuse the Service, including not to: harass, abuse or harm other users; post unlawful, offensive or infringing content; impersonate others; attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; interfere with or disrupt the Service; or falsify activity data to gain an unfair advantage in challenges. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

SipStep, its name, logo, design and software are owned by IDEATOWEB LTD and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or branding.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", to the fullest extent permitted by law. We work to keep SipStep reliable, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or free of bugs, or that any data, goals or calculations are accurate.

Security

We protect your data with reasonable technical and organisational measures, as described in our Privacy Policy. No online service can be completely secure. Provided we have taken those measures, we are not responsible for loss or damage caused by hacking, viruses, unauthorised access or other attacks by third parties. If a security incident affects your personal data, we will tell you and the authorities where the law requires.

Your data and in-app rewards

We take care to keep your data safe, but we cannot guarantee that it will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you; water and workouts you allow the app to write to Apple Health or Health Connect also stay there. Streaks, ranks, badges, challenge results, Drops and items you get with Drops are part of the game, have no money value and cannot be exchanged for money. We may adjust or remove them, for example to correct errors or cheating.

Things outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages or changes at Apple, Google, our hosting and other service providers, internet or power failures, cyberattacks, and natural events.

What we are and are not responsible for

If we break these Terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. SipStep is for personal use, so we have no responsibility for any loss of profit, business, business opportunity or revenue.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of £50 or the amount you paid for SipStep Plus in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or your rights under data protection law.

9. Changes to the Service and termination

We may change, suspend or stop any part of the Service, for example to add or remove features, fix problems or meet legal requirements. If we stop the Service entirely, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and liability) will continue to apply.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and if you live elsewhere you keep any protection the consumer law of your country gives you.
